Gay activist shuts down claim Black Lives Matter is ‘inherently racist’ – WATCH

Activist DeRay Mckesson has responded to accusations by former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani that Black Lives Matter is “inherently racist” in an interview following his release from jail.
The gay equal rights campaigner spent 16 hours in a cell after being was arrested for ‘obstructing a highway of commerce’ during peaceful protests against the killing of black Americans at the hands of police.
In an interview with CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday, Giuliani suggested that the movement “divides” Americans, continuing to assert: “Black lives matter. White lives matter. Asian lives matter. Hispanic lives matter. [Focusing on black lives is] anti-American and it’s racist.”
He added: “I don’t see what Black Lives Matter is doing for blacks other than isolating them. All it cares about is the police shooting of blacks. It doesn’t care about the 90 percent of blacks that are killed by other blacks”.
However, Mckesson was quick to set the record straight in an interview with Yahoo News. Branding Giuliani’s comments “dishonest”, the gay civil rights activist compared saying “all lives matter” in response to the Black Lives Matter movement with going to a breast cancer rally and shouting “colon cancer matters”.
