Gay couple and one of their mothers brutally attacked in unprovoked assault in Leeds

A gay couple and one of their mothers were attacked after a man launched an unprovoked homophobic attack on them.
The two men were out celebrating one of their 22nd birthday and introduced their parents to each other for the first time at a Gino D’Acampo restaurant in Leeds.
While they were outside the restaurant having a cigarette with one of the mothers, Sarah Liversidge, they were approached by Philip Sexton.
Shocking CCTV footage shows Sexton pushing Liversidge out of the way before punching one of the men.
He is then seen being confronted by a waitress at the restaurant, who he ended up punching and dragging by the hair, LeedsLive reported.
Ross Liversidge, Sarah’s husband, said: “We are not from Leeds and will never return.
“We were there to celebrate one of the boys’ birthdays and meet his parents for the first time.
“What should have been a really happy event ended in violence and upset.”
Philip Sexton pleaded guilty to four counts of assault by beating and was handed a 12 month community order.
He was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of community service.
