Gay man shares text apology he received from high school bully 20 years later

A gay man has shared an apology he received from his school bully two decades later.

ChadMichael Morrisette, a gay man from Los Angeles, revealed in a post on Facebook that he had received an apology via text from his high school bully over 20 years after he left school.

“During junior high and high school I was bullied for being who I am. I was bullied for being gay. I was bullied for being little,” he wrote, reports Pink News.

He added: “I was bullied for every reason someone is bullied. It was awful. I couldn’t even walk to classes without an adult escort or friends with me.”

He then shared a picture of the text he had received from his old school bully, who used to taunt him because of his sexuality.

“I was recently talking with my ten year old daughter about bullies. She asked me if I ever bullied anyone and sadly I had to say ‘yes.’ What came to mind is how shitty and mean I was to you when we were in Jr. High. I want to apologize. If we lived in the same state, I would apologize to your face. I don’t even know if you remember, but I do and I’m sorry.”

Morrisette replied to the apology text, telling his former bully that he can tell his daughter that they’re “good”.

“In 20 years you are the only person to apologize for being a bully to me when we were younger,” he said. “I hope you can proudly tell your daughter that you’ve apologised and we’re good.”
