Gay man told by boss: ‘Have sex with female prostitute or lose your job’

A gay man has taken legal action against his boss after allegedly being told that he would lose his job if he didn’t have sex with a female prostitute.
The 40 year-old man, who works as a chef in Rimini, Italy, says that after constant harassment from about his sexuality by his boss, he was told to “prove” that he wasn’t gay by having sex with a woman.
“I was scared to lose my job so I agreed to do that. I drove to a street where I knew there were going to be prostitutes and I met Marta, a Romanian girl. I explained her the situation and she accepted,” he told Italian newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano.
Shortly after accepting his boss’ request, the man says that he realised he couldn’t go through with it because he felt like he was being “raped”.
“We went back to the restaurant, where my manager spoke with her and told her what she had to do,” he explained. “He humiliated me in front of her.”
“We then went to a room to have sex, but I could not manage as I felt I was being raped. The manager then gave €40 to the prostitute while my colleagues started asking the woman whether I was gay or straight. She replied I was fine, but they did not believe her,” he added.
A few days after the incident – which has caused outrage among Italian LGBT groups – took place, the man decided to take legal action against his boss.
