Google marks Betty White’s 100th birthday with touching Easter egg tribute
The Golden Girls star passed away last month just 17 days shy of her 100th birthday

Google has paid a touching tribute to the Golden Girl, Betty White, on what would have been the star’s 100th birthday with a series of animations on its search engine.
On Monday (17 January) if you searched the actress’ name in Google rose petals began to fall from the top of the screen and a lyric from The Golden Girls theme tune appeared reading “Thank you for being a friend,” with the dates 1922-2021.
The tribute is still in place today Tuesday (18 January) and acts as a lovely way to mark the iconic actress’ legacy.

White sadly passed away on 31 December after a stroke, People report. She was two weeks away from what would have been her 100th birthday.
Best known for her role as Rose Nylund in The Golden Girls, which was on air between 1985 and 1992.
People also report that a special film was aired on Monday originally titled Betty White: 100 Years Young but was renamed Betty White: A Celebration following her death.
Prior to her death, White had done an interview with People looking ahead to her 100th birthday where she joked that that secret to getting to the centenary mark was “I try to avoid anything green. I think it’s working.”
