Gus Kenworthy throws expert shade at Mike Pence after breaking thumb at Winter Olympics
Get her, Gus.

If they were handing out medals for making a statement at the Winter Olympics, you can bet that Gus Kenworthy would be in contention.
Along with figure skater Adam Rippon, 26-year-old Gus is one of two openly gay athletes on Team USA, and it looks like not even broken bones are able to stop him from using his platform in Pyeongchang to promote a message of tolerance and diversity.
In a tweet posted on Thursday, Gus revealed that he had fractured his thumb during training, and couldn’t resist the chance to take a swipe at anti-gay US Vice President Mike Pence, who is leading the country’s delegation in South Korea.
Sharing a picture of an X-ray and another of his hand in immovable brace, the former Attitude cover star looked on the bright side in the midst of disaster.
“Broke my thumb yesterday in practice. It won’t stop me from competing (obvi) but it does prevent me from shaking Pence’s hand so… Silver linings!”, Kenworthy joked.
“Will be giving my teammates (and literally everyone else) an enthusiastic “thumbs up!” of encouragement the rest of the trip.”
Despite his injury, Gus is still set to compete in the slopestyle competition this Sunday (February 18).
Shortly after the tweet was a posted, a Twitter user commented that Gus’s “obsession with Pence is creepy.”
It didn’t long for Gus to fire back.
“This was literally my first tweet ever that mentioned him. You’ve tweeted more about me than I have about him,” he replied.
“Soooo actually it looks like YOU’RE the one who is obsessed with ME! And while I’m flattered I’m really just not interested. K thx bye!”
Gus, you’re doing amazing sweetie.
