Hertz named official car provider for Brighton Pride 2016
By Will Stroude
Brighton Pride have named leading car rental company Hertz as their first Official Fleet Provider for this year’s celebrations.
Brighton Pride Festival is the largest of its kind in the UK, with over 300,000 revelers joining in the fun last year. Taking place from August 5 to August 7 this year, this year is all about diversity and unity, with the theme being ‘Carnival of Diversity: Uniting Nations’.
Last year’s event raised a record breaking £100,000 for LGBT and HIV organisations and good causes across Sussex. Beneficiaries included Allsorts Youth Project, Lunch Positive, LGBT Community Safety Forum, MindOut, Peer Action and Clare Project.
As Official Fleet Provider, Hertz will keep Brighton Pride moving by providing their services to the weekend’s organization team for before and during the event. Plus, community organisations, parade participants and other event organizers will be able to make use of special car rental rates during the event.
David Rowlands, General Manager, Hertz UK, commented: “We fully support the values Brighton Pride embraces, as well as its organisers’ fantastic work in celebrating diversity and raising funds for good causes. We wish Brighton & Hove Pride every success in the upcoming celebrations and look forward to providing organisers and participants with their vehicle hire requirements.”
Paul Kemp, Brighton Pride Community Interest Company, said: “Brighton Pride has evolved over the years with more communities coming together to celebrate every aspect of our city, regardless of sexuality, race, gender, age or ability.
“We are delighted that Hertz UK has partnered with Brighton & Hove Pride. Their support to our organisation team with a fleet of vans is a much needed resource for the event”.
