Homophobic straight boys can’t deal with Twitter’s new ‘hearts’ update
By Micah Sulit
Twitter just rolled out what initially seemed like a frivolous and minor change, replacing its ‘favourites’ with ‘likes’, and swapping the traditional star icon for a hearts.
In a blog explaining the change, product manager Akarshan Kumar wrote: “The heart, in contrast, is a universal symbol that resonates across languages, cultures, and time zones. The heart is more expressive, enabling you to convey a range of emotions and easily connect with people. And in our tests, we found that people loved it.”
As it turns out however, various users suffering from a serious case of fragile masculinity are accusing the update for being, like, totally gay.
Twitter is making me feel so gay with these hearts. I'm just trying to tell my homies they are funny not ask them to be my valentine.
