Hozier releases video in support of Ireland’s gay marriage referendum
By Josh Haggis
Hozier has released a video in support of Ireland’s same-sex marriage referendum.
The Take Me To Church singer has released the short YouTube video as part of the Staight Up For Equality campaign, which was created in an effort to persuade straight people to speak out in favour of same-sex marriage.
“It’s imperative that the straight community shows support for the LGBT community on this issue, and makes a clear statement that we value the equal treatment of people on our shores,” says the singer.
“To anyone who is tired of sophistry, fear-mongering or outright deception of those who, under the guise of traditional family values, promote an irrational aversion to same-sex marriage or relationships – I encourage you to vote,” he adds.
