Police have arrested a man who is suspected of murdering a drunk man after slashing his genitals after sex.
K Muniyasamy, 35, is charged with two crimes in the Indian city of Chennai including a murder which took place on May 25 and the attempted murder of another drunk man on June 1.
He was arrested this week (June 12) after police received a tip from his employee after CCTV footage of a man appeared on TV channels, the Times of India reported.
He is accused of allegedly having sex with men under a flyover in north Chennai.
Before his first victim died of his injuries in hospital, he told police he wasn’t sure if someone else injury him or he did it himself. Police claimed he was drunk and depressed.
When police searched CCTV cameras following the death of the first victim, they found another man was injured.
He was taken to hospital and he was treated for serious injuries to his genitals. After admitted having sex with a man, police linked the two cases together.
Police commissioner R Dhinakaran said: “Muniyasamy had recently come to Chennai and he was working in a fish outlet.
“He is a homosexual and he confessed to attacking the two men for not cooperating with him.
“After the video clips were released, a person called us up saying the man we were looking for was his employee and the tip-off helped.”
It has been reported that Muniyasamy used a blade to slash the genitals of one of his victims and the other was caused by a broken liquor bottle.
