Indonesian mayor says instant noodles and milk formula make babies gay
According to the mayor of a major Indonesian city, the feeding of instant noodles and milk formula is turning babies gay.
The bizarre claims were made by Arief R Wismansyah, the mayor of Tangerang, earlier this week during a pregnancy seminar, reports the Daily Mail Online.
“To create Indonesian children that are healthy, smart, and competitive, the most important thing is, from the beginning, to provide them adequate nutrition, especially breastfeeding,” Wismansyah was quoted saying by Okezone.
He continued: “So, it’s no wonder that recently there are more LGBT,” referring to the increasing use of canned milk and similar products recently due to parents being busier nowadays.
These claims come after an Indonesian minister called for LGBTI students to be banned from universities.
Separately, the Indonesian Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu said moves to see greater equality for all Indonesians put his country at risk: “[The LGBT movement] is dangerous as we can’t see who our foes are, but out of the blue everyone is brainwashed – now the (LGBT) community is demanding more freedom, it really is a threat.”
