An Irish football player has received abuse online for allegedly appearing in a gay porn film.

The video in which the footballer allegedly appears is featured on pay-per-view porn site TheCastingRoom.net, which claims to contain videos of men trying to break into the porn industry by performing same-sex acts on camera.

The porn video, which reportedly shows the footballer engaging in both oral and anal sex, is said to have been uploaded to the web last month (March), but apparently caught the attention of Twitter users yesterday (April 2).

Though some Twitter users accepted the footballer’s alleged decision to appear in the film, others on the social media website chose to direct a series of crude jokes and homophobic insults at the player, the Irish Independent reports.

The player in question – a well-known name in the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) – has since deleted his Facebook and Twitter accounts.
