A rugby player reportedly bombarded teammate Israel Folau with gay porn on a group Whatsapp chat, it has emerged.

Folau was sacked from Australia national rugby union team the Wallabies in 2019 for making fiercely anti-gay statements on social media.

However, he bouned back and signed to French team Catalan Dragons last year – and on being inducted into the Dragons’ group chat, it’s alleged fellow Aussie James Maloney – formerly of the Sydney Roosters – gave Folau an interesting introduction.

“God love him…”

“Jimmy Maloney, God love him, couldn’t help himself and started bombarding him with gay pornography” journalist Andrew Webster claimed on the Morning Glory with Matty Johns podcast on SEN 1170 Radio this week.

In 2019, devout Christian Folau posted a meme on Instagram saying “hell awaits” groups including homosexuals, thieves and adulterers.

He added: “Those that are living in Sin will end up in Hell unless you repent. Jesus Christ loves you and is giving you time to turn away from your sin and come to him.”

That same year, rugby star Joe Marler responded to the news by posting photos of guys kissing and tagging Folau.

Folau launched legal action against Rugby Australia after his contract was terminated, but eventually settled out of court.

Attitude has approached a representative for Dragons Catalans for comment.
