Jeremy Clarkson criticised for homophobic slur on Twitter

This morning, Jeremy Clarkson tweeted a photo of him and former Top Gear co-presenter Richard Hammond outside a fudge factory in Australia. His caption? “We have got jobs at last. Here. As packers.”

You get the message, of course. The axed Top Gear presenter may have been poking fun at his unemployment, but Clarkson’s tweet didn’t sit well with some Twitter users who accused him of homophobia.

A Stonewall spokesman told the Mail Online, “We can’t quite see Clarkson in the confectionery industry, maybe it’s the sour taste that his racist and homophobic slurs leave. All we can see him packing up at the moment is his career.”

In January 2014, Clarkson was blasted for tweeting a photo of himself asleep on a plane, next to a piece of paper with the words ‘gay c*nt’. Following the backlash, he tweeted, “I have deleted my last tweet and would like to apologise profusely to anyone who I upset while I was asleep.”
