Jodie Foster marries girlfriend Alexandra Hedison

Jodie Foster and her girlfriend, photographer Alexandra Hedison, have got married.

The couple are believed to have been dating for a little under a year and a representative for the actress confirmed that they tied the knot over the weekend, E! News reports.

Foster, 51, has two children, 15-year-old Charles and 12-year-old Christopher, whom she co-parents with her former partner Cydney Bernard.

She and Bernard were romantically involved for around 15 years until 2008, and during her acceptance speech upon receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2013 Golden Globes, Foster described Bernard as “my heroic co-parent, my ex-partner in love but righteous soul sister in life”.

In addition to being an acclaimed photographer, Alexandra Hedison has worked as an actress, playing Dylan Moreland in 14 episodes of The L Word. She previously dated Ellen DeGeneres for around three years in the early noughties.
