By Micah Sulit

For his latest project, designer Jonathan Anderson dug deep in the archives of Ian David Baker, a prolific artist and photographer who is well-known for his portraits of young men.

Anderson curated a selection of never-before-seen prints – a mix of male nude portraits, photo montages and some urban and coastal scenes depicting British life. There are also a few gay Pride photographs from the 1980s.

The black and white prints are now for sale on Anderson’s website, priced at £125 to £180. Only one copy of each print is available.

“I first saw Ian’s work in a very small magazine booklet that I bought a long time ago,” Anderson told Dazed. “The images were incredible because I think they showed British culture in such an incredible way. It was very [focused] on the male form for a moment in time when gay culture maybe wasn’t as easy [to celebrate].”
