Julian Clary to host Stonewall Awards 2014

Julian Clary will host this year’s Stonewall Awards, it has been announced.
The gay comic will host the ceremony – an annual event held by the LGB rights charity to celebrate members of the community who have had a positive impact on the lives of British lesbian, gay and bisexual people – in London next month (November 6).
This year’s notable nominations include Olympic diver Tom Daley and Hollywood actress Ellen Page, who are both up for Hero of the Year.
Meanwhile, Orange is the New Black and Pride have been nominated for Broadcast of the Year, Attitude contributor Matt Cain has been nominated for Writer of the Year, and attitude.co.uk is in the running for Publication of the Year.
Last year’s Stonewall award-winner’s included Sue Perkins, who was named Entertainer of the Year, and the Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh, Keith O’Brien, who was labelled Bigot of the Year.
Meanwhile, Attitude’s Editor-at-Large, Paris Lees, was recently announced as the first ever trans judge for The Stonewall Awards – find out more here.
