Kansas teacher forced to quit after constant homophobic abuse
Michael Hill was told homosexuals should not be teaching their children

A teacher has been forced to quit his job after receiving continuous homophobic abuse.
Michael Hill was an arts teacher at a Kansas high school but he has been forced to hand his notice in after a “concerned patron” sent him a number of vile and homophobic emails, The Topeka Capital-Journal reported.
Hill posted three of the emails on Facebook and read: “Queers will burn and so will you. Don’t think my friends and I aint still after you.
“We don’t want fags in our school. [sic]”
Another one read: “I’m just going to take matters into my own hands. Fags are not welcome in our schools.
“I know where you live. I know a lot about your schedule. You need to watch your back cause I aint alone. [sic]”
The third one he posted on Facebook said that gay people are “perverts and predators” and that homosexuals shouldn’t be allowed to teach.
It read: “Homosexuals should not be teaching our kids, in fact I don’t believe they should be teaching our kids at all they are perverts and predators.
“The religious views of my family do not support this lifestyle… You should not be allowed to push some gay agenda on our kids. [sic]”
Hill – who has lived in Kansas his whole life – came out on National Coming Out Day last October and the abuse quickly started.
He offered to take unpaid leave but was told he had to either come back and quit and in the same Facebook post he wrote: “I decided I needed to put these out there because people need to know this kind of ugly hatred still exists in the world only by confronting it can we end it.
“This was part of a pattern of harassment that started back in October 2017.
“As a result of this I made the difficult decision to pack up and make a huge leap of faith and moved to Palm Springs, CA. [sic]”
