KFC fires manager who hired and then fired a trans woman
KFC have announced that they have recently fired the manager who had hired and then fired a trans woman one hour after finding out about her identity.
Talking to ABC 13, 27-year-old Georgia Carter states that she got the job after answering four questions and then celebrated with her boyfriend. “I’m an active member of society again,” she says.
Within the hour the KFC manager called Carter again with the bad news.
“He was like, ‘My supervisor and I have a problem because on your license it says ‘male,’ but you’re…’ and I was like, ‘I’m transgender,'” Carter says in the above video.
“‘Oh, we can’t hire you because we don’t know which bathroom you can use,'” the manager told her.
According to KFC, the manager has now been terminated.
@PeteManley KFC will not tolerate discrimination. The franchisee terminated this manager & Ms Carter was offered a job at any Richmond KFC.
