Kid Rock repeats homophobic slur after criticism for branding fans ‘f**king f*ggots’

American musician Kid Rock has repeated a homophobic slur while defending himself after being filmed using the word last weekend.

In a video uploaded to the website, TMZ on Monday (7 June) the ‘All Summer Long’ singer is seen yelling at the crowd of a Tennessee bar, “You f***ing f*****s with your iPhones out!”.

Taking to Twitter yesterday (9 June) the 50-year-old singer, who chose to refer to himself in the third person, didn’t seem to mind repeating the word.

TMZ reports that the original video was filmed at the FishLipz Bar & Grill in Smithville, Tennessee over the weekend. In it, Kid Rock is seen ranting on a microphone about being filmed, sticking a finger up at the camera.

The Republican musician then tells people to “post this d*** right now” while pointing at his crotch. Charming. He then yells the aforementioned slur before the video ends.

Responding to criticism for the outburst on social media, a seemingly unrepentant Kid Rock repeated the slur to describe those offended.

Signing a message under his birth name, Bob Ritiche, the singer wrote: “If Kid Rock using the word f*ggot offends you, good chance you are one. Either way, I know he has a lot of love for his gay friends and I will have a talk with him. Have a nice day. – Bob Ritchie”

It’s not the first time Kid Rock has caused controversy. As reported by Billboard, in 2019 he was removed from a stage for verbally abusing several celebrities including Oprah Winfrey.

The singer, who’s also an ordained minister (yeah, we can’t believe it either) said in 2015 that he wasn’t looking forward to marrying gay couples.
