Lupita Nyong’o to star in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’?

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o is reportedly being lined up for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII.

The actress, who won an Oscar earlier this month (March) for her performance as Patsy in 12 Years a Slave, is said to be in talks with director JJ Abrams.

Aaccording to The Hollywood Reporter, Nyong’o would star as a descendant of iconic Star Wars character Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The reports follow the rumoured casting of Girls actor Adam Driver, who is believed to have signed up to play a villain.

The Star Wars series has grossed over $4.5 billion dollars (£2.7 billion) since it began in 1977, making it the fifth most successful film franchise of all time. Episode VII is due to start shooting in the UK later this year for a release in December 2015.
