An Ohio college student has been arrested after offering lube, Sprite and chicken alfredo to what he thought was a 15-year-old boy for sex online.
Albert Maruna, 22, responded to a notice from an undercover police officer posing as the minor on a dating app back in December, according to WKBN-TV.
Maruna, who studies at Youngstown State University, told the officer that he didn’t believe his age, which he believed to be 15, was an obstacle for them to have an intimate relationship.
The officer then received a number of nude photos that Maruna took of himself and also engaged in sexually explicit conversations with the officer.
Maruna said: “You are my one and only.”
When he tried to arrange a face-to-face meeting, he insisted that the ‘boy’ come wearing a jockstrap.
They agreed to meet at a location in Austintown and Maruna told the officer that he was going to bring lube, Sprite and chicken alfredo.
Maruna was arrested when they met and was charged with importuning, disseminating matter harmful or obscene to juveniles, possession of criminal tools and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
The police found him with a Tupperware container full of chicken alfredo in addition to other items.
When interviewed, Maruna admitted he didn’t believe sex with a 15-year-old boy was wrong.
He now faces a one-week jail term and will also register as a Tier One sex offender and endure 120 days of house arrest.
