Man charged with hate crime and assault during Delaware Pride Festival

Sean Wiley was also accused of assaulting a man and woman during the festival

A man has been charged with hate crime and has been accused of assaulting a man at a Pride festival and groping two others.

Sean Wiley, 31, face a hate crime charge after he was accused of punching a 62-year-old man during the Delaware Pride Festival this month, 6abc.com reported.

Witnesses reportedly flagged police who found the victim bleeding from his mouth after being punched and Wiley was identified as a suspect.

Police say he was drunk and shouting slurs at festival goers. They also say he ‘had grabbed private body parts’ of a 31-year-old man and 46-year-old woman during the festival.

Wiley allegedly also tried to punch a police officer when he was arrested.

He was initially charged with three counts of offensive touching, assault of the third degree, menacing, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, third degree trespass and resisting arrest.

He received a $3,900 secured bond on those charges. During the investigation, police obtained a warrant for the hate crime charge.
