By Josh Haggis

A man has died just hours after visiting one of London’s biggest gay saunas.

Emergency services were called to Pleasuredrome in Waterloo on Sunday (March 8), after a 37-year-old man collapsed. He was taken to St. Thomas’ Hospital, where he later died.

“The management and staff are hugely saddened by this event,” said the establishment in a statement. “As is normal practice, the matter is under review by the relevant authorities, who will come to their conclusions in due course.”

According to a Metropolitan Police spokesperson, the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

The man’s death follows a spate of tragic incidents at the popular South London venue. In 2012, two men died at the spa after taking high levels of party drug GHB. Later that year, another man also died under similar circumstances.
