A man was videoed punching another man in an alleged homophobic attack.
Sal Trejo and his friends were out in Salt Lake City when they were approached by a man who started making homophobic and misogynistic comments towards them.
The group then started to film him and when they asked him to leave, he refused and is seen asking the victim: “Are you gay though?”
To which Trejo replied: “Oh, I am.” The man then is heard asking, “Oh, then you’re gay?” and before the victim can answer, the man started punching and shoving him.
In a statement on Twitter, Trejo said that they called the police but the man continued to call them ‘f*****s’ before pulling out a knife.
He then ran off and drove away in his car.
Trejo wrote on Twitter along with a video of the attack: “My friends and I were assaulted by this homophobic man in downtown Salt Lake City last night. Anyone know him?
“The police are interested in having a chat with him. #SaltLakeCity @slcpd @slcmayor @EqualityUtah”
