Man plans to sue Grindr for allowing sexual racism on profiles

By Steve Brown

A man is planning to sue Grindr for sexual racism on profiles.

Sinakhone Keodara, the CEO and founder of the Asian Entertainment Television company, announced on social media that he is planning to sue the hookup app which allows people to write racial discrimination posts on their profiles.

Along with his letter, he wrote on Twitter: “Gay Asian men bringing a national class action lawsuit against @Grindr for race discriminations.”

Keodara’s plea to the gay Asian population reads: “I’m planning to bring a national, class-action lawsuit against gay hook up app Grindr for racial discrimination and I’m looking for co-plaintiffs across all 50 states.

“Please spread my call for co-plaintiffs to all your gay Asian men in your life that has been offended, humiliated, degraded and dehumanized by Grindr allowing gay white men to write in their profiles “No Asians”, “Not interested in Asians”, or “I don’t find Asians attractive”.

“This is complete bullshit and I’m suing Grindr for being a breeding ground that perpetuates racism against gay Asian men.

“Now, in order to join my lawsuit, these gay Asian men Grindr users must be paying customers and they can’t join if they’re us9ing the free app.”

Back in 2015, a study found that 15 per cent of guys on the app included sexual racism on their profiles, with white users being the worst offenders.
