Man polls Grindr users on Scottish independence

By Josh Haggis

One avid follower of the Scottish independence referendum has taken his own, rather unusual straw poll – on Grindr.

Tom Court polled over 650 users of the gay dating app earlier this week to find out whether they believe Scotland should vote “yes” or “no” in the referendum today (September 18).

Some of the respondents gave passionate and intellectual answers to the question, while others brushed it off and concentrated on the app’s more traditional uses. Read a selection of the best responses below:

Summing up the results on his Tumblr, Court wrote: “When only decisive opinions are taken into account, Grindr votes NO to independence, with a 54-46% split. If this is reflected in the results of the referendum, we can assume the headless torsos have taken over Scotland and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.”
