Indian police are looking for a man who allegedly attacked his friend with a “sharp weapon” after he refused to have sex with him.

The 40-year-old wanted man was believed they were in a sexual relationship with a 29 year old after meeting a few months ago in the same gym.

According to the Times of India, the men were walking together when the victim told him he wanted to stop having sex after he recently got married.

A police officer said: “The duo was also in a sexual relationship with each other.

“On Monday night, the duo had gone for a stroll. When they reached the service road around 10pm, the suspect started pursuing the complainant to have sex with him.

“The man became furious and assaulted the complainant with a sharp weapon. We have launched a manhunt for him.”

The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening and was cut on his hand.

The man is wanted for “voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means” under section 324 of the Indian Penal Code.

Gay sex is illegal under section 377 of the Indian Penal Code but in July the Supreme Court of India will be debating to decriminalise gay sex.
