Mariah Carey will publish her first children’s book later this year.

Carey and her husband Nick Cannon have signed with Scholastic to publish their first tale Roc and Roe’s Twelve Days of Christmas.

The book will be a picture-based story and will be released this autumn.

The festive story is based on the couple’s twins Moroccan and Monroe, who are almost three years old.

“We are so excited to work with the Scholastic team on our Roc and Roe picture book and we can’t wait until this holiday season,” said the couple.

Roc and Roe’s Twelve Days of Christmas is the perfect book to read with your little ones – an adorable spin on a classic tale, sprinkled with humour and heart,” said Ken Geist, vice president and editorial director at Scholastic Press Picture Books.

The book will be illustrated by New York Times best-selling artist AG Ford.
