Meet the couple who got divorced to add a third man to their relationship

A Canadian couple have revealed how they got divorced after both falling in love with another man and deciding to continue to the relationship as a polyamorous trio.
27-year-old Adam Grant, ex-husband Shayne Curran, 29 and new boyfriend Sebastian Tran, also 29, say they hope to shed light on the taboo subject of polyamory after sharing their story with the Daily Mail this week.
(l-r) Adam Grant, Sebastian Tran and Shayne Curran have been living together in a polyamorous relationship for three years.
The trio have been living together for more than three years after meeting in a nightclub – and Adam and Shayne decided to divorce last year after marrying in 2011 so that they would all have equal status in relation to each other.
“We started chatting to Sebastian and the conversation just came really easily. After leaving the nightclub, we went home with Sebastian and spent the whole evening with him,” Adam explains.
Sebastian – who says he hadn’t been in a serious relationship before he met the pair – adds: “At the time, I didn’t think I was ready to commit to anyone so it was a surprise when I fell for both Adam and Shayne. I didn’t think I wanted one boyfriend let alone two!
“But from the moment we met, we started spending all our time together. We were inseparable.”
The ‘throuple’ say they hope to raise children together in the future and are currently looking into drawing up a legal framework where they are all treated equally in the eyes of the law.
Adam explains: “We divorced so everything would work out legally with the three of us. The commitment Shayne and I made to each other still stands but now Seb is part of that commitment too.”
He adds: “We just want to say that love is love. It should be multiplied not divided. It shouldn’t matter if you’re in a three-way or a four-way relationship.”
