Melania Trump says Donald ‘sees potential in everyone, no matter their sexual orientation’
Spare us, please.
Melania Trump has insisted her husband Donald Trump “sees potential in everyone” regardless of sexuality or gender.
The First Lady made the comments while delivering a speech at the Republican National Convention in Pennsylvania this week.
Walking on stage to Tom Jones’ She’s a Lady, Melania said of Donald, 74: “Before my husband decided to run for president, the media loved him because they saw the man that I see every day – someone tough, successful, and fair.
“A man who sees potential in everyone he meets, no matter their gender, race, religion or sexual orientation.”
The 50-year-old went on to call her husband “a man who has a very big heart and great sense of humour. Donald loves helping people, and he loves seeing those around him and his country succeed.
In the same speech, Melania said: “The Democrats, with help from the media, have worked tirelessly to all but destroy our traditional values.”
Melania’s speech follows a widely-mocked public appearance by Trump’s daughter Tiffany at a LGBT rally earlier this month.
