Men in Thailand are getting their penis whitened as part of strange new trend
Welcome to 2018...
Men in Thailand are reportedly seeking a strange new medical treatment to whiten their penis.
Over 100 men in the country have signed up for the brand new fad, which sees doctors use a tiny laser to whiten the penis.
The Lelux Hospital in Bangkok has reported that they see up to three to four clients a day and most of them come from the LGBT community.
The clinic, known for it’s controversial body-whitening services, allegedly began offering the procedure six months ago after a customer complained about “dark parts” on his penis, the Daily Mail reports.
Lelux Hospital manager Bunthita Wattansiri told AFP: “These days a lot of people are asking about it.
She claimed that most clients seeking the treatment are aged between 22 and 55-years-old.
The procedure costs around £480 for five sessions and Wattansiri stated doctors are extremely vigilant with the procedure.
“We have to be careful because it’s a sensitive part of the body,” Wattansiri added.
Popol Tansakul, the marketing manager at Lelux, revealed the hospital also takes in patients from other countries such as Cambodia and Hong Kong.
The procedure drew attention after the hospital released images of a man undergoing the treatment yesterday (January 4).
Meanwhile, Thailand’s health ministry has issued a warning to the clinic over the procedure. They claimed patients may suffer pain, inflammation, scars and could later have issues with their genitals.
They also warned that if the procedure isn’t continued, most the pigment on the skin will return and patients will be left with “nasty looking spots.”
