Mexican actor, Luis Gerardo Mendez, has apparently come as out gay – albeit very subtly.

During an interview with Moi magazine, the 32-year-old actor explained that he has had difficulty in the past remaining monogamous in relationships.

“If the agreement is that you can sleep with anybody, there are no problems, but if it’s not, it’s not cool,” he said. “I was not faithful to many, I struggled a lot with it, but I have redeemed myself.”

Because he used the masculine word “muchos”, which refers to men, instead of the feminine “muchas”, which would refer to women, local outlets including Latin Times have reported that he has effectively “come out”.

Luis Gerardo Mendez has worked consistently on Mexican TV and film since the mid-noughties. He played a gay character in a 2010 film called No se si cortarme las venas o dejarmelas largas, NewNowNext notes, sharing a kiss with a male co-star in one scene.
