Michael Sam splits with fiancé Vito Cammisano?

Michael Sam is rumoured to have split up with longterm boyfriend Vito Cammisano, just six months after popping the question to his former college sweetheart.
Sam returned to his Canadian football team the Montreal Alouettes on Monday (June 29) after mysteriously leaving the team two weeks ago for “personal reasons” – but the signs point towards a split with Cammisano, who he began dating in 2011 while the pair were studying at the University of Missouri.
However, according to TMZ, Sam has now deleted his Instagram photos of the pair, including one which showed them getting engaged atop St Petersburg Basilica in the Vatican City back in January, while neither have appeared or been mentioned in each other’s social media posts since May.
Meanwhile, Cammisano was filmed without his engagement ring as he posted his first video to YouTube last week, where he said he wanted to begin vlogging and documenting his “journey of life”.
The Daily Mail also noted that neither of the pair responded to requests for comment on the US Supreme Court’s historic same-sex marriage ruling last Friday, despite both being outspoken gay rights proponents.
Sam did comment on the ruling as he returned to his Canada training base earlier this week, but even his words there didn’t inspire confidence that his engagement is still on, the Guardian reports.
“That was freaking awesome. I almost cussed, by the way,” he said. “It was historical and I’m very proud and very happy to be American right now.”
He added: “I’m just happy that I can get married and it’d be legal.”
Meanwhile, Montreal Alouettes general manager has said that several American NFL teams called him in the days afollowing Sam’s personal break, and that many of those teams still had significant interest in Sam as a player. The 25-year-old was previously picked up and dropped by two NFL teams last year.
