Modern Family
‘s Eric Stonestreet has revealed that he refused to have his picture taken with infamous former US Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum.
Stonestreet, who plays Cam Tucker, one half of the award-winning sitcom’s gay couple, revealed that Santorum, an outspoken critic of equal marriage, once asked to pose with him for the cameras at a dinner event at the White House.
“Rick Santorum wanted a picture with me. It was at a time when he was publicly saying, ‘Gay marriage, gay marriage [is wrong],’ and I’m like, ‘You know, I can’t do it,'” Stonestreet told HuffPost Live.
He added: “It was with him and his kids or something like that, and I said, ‘I’d be happy to take a picture with the kids, but I can’t just be in a picture with Santorum'”.
Stonestreet’s character, Cam Tucker, married his partner, Mitchell Pritchett, played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, in the most recent season of Modern Family – and Attitude celebrated their nuptials with a special version of our recent Love & Marriage issue cover – check it out here.
