New app OutSavvy helps you get the best out of London’s gay scene
By Umar Sarwar
Although there are many good print and online guides – you could say we are spoilt for choice – discovering new events and nights out and booking them all in one place simply wasn’t possible!
Paul Dunstone, founder of OutSavvy, realised there was no app or website that not only listed LGBT-friendly events in your city but also allowed you to purchase the tickets on the same platform. So he set about building his own app and recruited a rather good looking team.
Two years later, the result is OutSavvy, the insider’s guide to LGBT life.
Available now, OutSavvy offers a remarkably diverse spectrum of cultural and not-so-cultural events for the LGBT community, where you can book tickets simply and securely, with one tap/click or their website or app. Sometimes, you may feel like seeing a thought provoking play at the King’s Head, Leicester Square or Arcola theatres or discovering an LGBT classic film at BFI Southbank. Another time you may want to shake your booty on the dance floor with the hotties at BANG, WUT? CLUB or Brut. OutSavvy has you covered.
You can purchase special OutSavvy ticket offers to these and many of our other partners including Royal Vauxhall Tavern, The Two Brewers, London Gay Symphony Orchestra or Stonewall and you can even get a deal on Uber to get you home (or elsewhere) afterwards.
OutSavvy also writes about an ever growing number of restaurants to discover around London in the ‘Out for Food’ section. ‘Out for Drinks’ reviews LGBT-friendly venues and shines a light on some of the many eclectic drinking haunts about town – for swift pints, cheeky cocktails or something a little longer and more relaxed – detailing venues that are ideal nights out with mates, dates, or for exploring and adventure.
OutSavvy is very social, so you can find out where your friends are, what events they are attending or chat with other people going to the same place.
Now, you will never miss out on a night again.
Focusing on London to begin, Paul Dunstone and the OutSavvy team are looking beyond to other cities and towns around the UK and overseas. They see this very much as your very own LGBT ‘pocket’ guide, seeking out the quirky and the interesting and knowing wherever you are your tickets are paid for securely. Already, Brighton and Manchester, are firmly in their sights.
Coming soon, will be a travel and tourism section where you can buy exclusive OutSavvy travel packages. Some exciting announcements will be made in the next few months.
Join the thousands and thousands of OutSavvy users who have already downloaded the free iPhone app and explore the events from over 50 LGBT-friendly partners, and growing. OutSavvy will now be introducing themselves to as wide a community as possible, so expect to hear lots more from the team.
