The Northern Ireland Office has spent around £318 in recent years trying to advance LGBTQ rights in the UK territory.
According to a Freedom of Information request by Channel 4 News, the money was reportedly spent on just rainbow lanyards.
Over the weekend, Sara Canning – the partner of murdered journalist Lyra McKee – expressed shocked when she heard what the money was spent on while leading a marriage equality march in Belfast.
Currently Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK that does not recognise same-sex marriage and the Love Equality campaign has been pushing for the British Government to act up and force the law.
