Obama shades anti-gay Indiana pizzeria during White House speech
By Josh Haggis
Barack Obama made a couple of jokes at the expensive of anti-gay conservatives during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner over the weekend.
The President, who appeared alongside a wealth of celebrities at the prestigious annual event, poked fun at the Indiana restaurant that infamously become one of the first to use the state’s Religious Freedom law to refuse service to members of the LGBT community.
“I tease Joe [Biden] sometimes, but he has been at my side for seven years, I love that man,” said Obama. “We’ve gotten so close that some places in Indiana won’t serve us pizza any more.”
He also ripped into potential Presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who claimed this month (April) that he wouldn’t attend a gay wedding of a loved one, saying: “Gays and lesbians across the country responded, “That’s not going to be a problem.”‘
