A man in Philadelphia was murdered last week after meeting a man he had made contact with on Grindr.

Dino Dizdarević, 25, was discovered in a lot in Chester, Pennsylvania in the early hours of Thursday morning (May 1), G Philly reports.

The Delaware County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that he sustained “multiple blunt-force trauma injuries to the face.”

Dizdarević informed his boyfriend Nick McBee, whom he was in an open relationship with, that he was travelling to Chester to meet a man he’d spoken to on the app.

McBee grew concerned as the hours passed and his boyfriend had still made no contact.

“He was a responsible person. He always called to let me know where he was,” he said. “I knew something was wrong.”

“I loved him so much. We had so many big plans for the future,” McBee added.

The authorities confirmed that they are not treating the murder as a hate crime as they have heard “through the grapevine” that the attacker is “part of the gay community”.
