Piers Morgan called MP Jim Wells a ‘bigoted dinosaur’ after he revealed he will no longer watch Strictly Come Dancing if they introduce same-sex partners.
While appearing on Good Morning Britain today (September 3), alongside openly gay and former Strictly dancer Robin Windsor, Wells argued that the long-running BBC ballroom and latin competition was ‘family viewing’.
He said” It’s family viewing. That last thing you need to be is challenged.”
The bigoted DUP MP went on to say how same-sex dance partners will make children ‘ask questions’ but the GMB host hit back and asked what the children will ask, to which Wells stumbled and said: “Why are there two men or woman dancing?”
After dubbing the move ‘radical’, Piers went on to say: “What time of day do you think gay people should be on TV?”
Wells then outrageously claimed that Strictly should air after the watershed if there are same-sex couples involved.
Piers then pointed out that Wells was sitting next to a gay man and said: “You’re just an old bigoted dinosaur.
“Your body is immediately defensive.”
When Wells then replied saying he had been insulted for the last five minutes, Piers simply said: “I’m not insulting you, I’m insulting your bigotry.”
