A survivor of the Pulse nightclub shooting claims Jesus cured him of homosexuality.
Luis Ruiz was injured in the attack in 2016 in Orlando which left 49 people – including many of his friends – dead and since the horrifying ordeal, many survivors have joined forces with the survivors of the Parkland school shooting for a campaign on gun control.
However, in the wake of the tragedy, Luis underwent a religious conversion is promoting a Freedom March – a fundamentalist Christian event – that advocates “curing” homosexuality.
While promoting the event, which is set to take place this weekend, Luis wrote: “I should of been of number 50.
“Going through old pictures of the night of Pulse a memory were my struggles of perversion, heavy drinking to drown out everything and having promiscuous sex that led to HIV my struggles were real!
“The enemy had its grip and now God has taken me from that moment and has given me Christ Jesus I’ve grown to know his love in a deeper level.
“2 out of the 49 were my close friends and are no longer with us. They lost their life that night.
“I should have been number 50 but now I have the chance to live in relationship and not religion – not just loving Christ but being in love with Christ and sharing His love.
“I know who I am and I am not defined with who the enemy says I use to be – but who Christ Jesus says I am. [sic]”
He then promoted the event again on his other social media accounts and said he is marching because he is “free”.
He said: “I am Marching May 5th of 2018 because I am free.
“FREE from: REJECTION – DEPRESSION – DEALTH – SUICIDE – INDENTY. THEFT IN CHRITS – LIES – CHEATING – PORNOGRAPHY – LUST – SEXUAL PERVERSION – DRUGS AND SO MANY MORE.
“Come join us in Washington DC for this fight that has already been won at the cross for our freedom.
“It’s not a GAY to STRAIGHT thing but a LOST TO SAVE thing. [sic]”
