Read Graham Norton’s touching advice to bisexual teen
By Ben Kelly

Graham Norton has offered heart warming advice to a bisexual 18 year old boy who wrote to him asking for his advice.
In a letter to the Telegraph, where Graham serves as a weekend agony uncle, the boy explained that since accepting his bisexuality, he has begun to experiment with a male friend, even though they both have girlfriends, and the other boy is the brother of his best friend.
Writing back, Graham tells the teen to relax about things, and realise this isn’t the huge drama he thinks it is, but does offer him some sound advice on what steps he should take.
“It is important in life that you strive to be the most authentic version of yourself that you can,” he says, “and if that is being a bisexual then good for you.”
However, Graham does explain that it’s not good for anyone if he continues seeing another boy, behind the back of his girlfriend. “The really important thing,” he explains, “is that while you live your life, you do so trying to avoid hurting other people.”
He adds, “In general, if you are doing something that has to be kept a secret, you probably shouldn’t be doing it.”
A poll on the same page, asking readers when they became certain of their sexuality, currently shows 68% of people knew before the age of 18, and 18% of people discovering their sexuality between the ages of 18 and 30.
