Sam Smith is social distancing and urges us to ‘take care of each other’

Sam Smith is at home social distancing and urging us all to ‘take care of each other’ amid the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus crisis.

Posting a video on social media the ‘To Die For’ singer spoke about the “weird, weird time” we are in.

“I just want to really bring home and just say how important I think this time right now is for all of us to remain a unit and to look out for each other”, they said.

“Especially for all the older people right now in the world.

“I’m worried about my Nan and there are so many people I’m worried about. We’ve just really got to look out for each other and be patient and be giving and share things.”

Smith, 27, posted the video, explaining they have a headache and some allergies to explain their sniffles – but added “I think I’m OK.”

Smith, who received Attitude’s Person of the Year Award in 2019, also called on all of us to keep busy, and announced plans to use their platforms to entertain us too.

“I’m going to sing and I’m going to play some songs and just record them, and hopefully we can all have a little sing-song together,” they said.

“I think it would be really, really nice. I think we all need it and, you know, in a time like this, music is a really, really beautiful thing.”
