‘Simon Cowell is gay’, says Tulisa’s PA in drug trial tape

Jurors at the high-profile drug trial of former X Factor judge Tulisa Constostavlos have been shown a tape in which her PA says Simon Cowell is gay.

In the video, Gareth Varey is seen being questioned by an undercover reporter from The Sun on Sunday. When asked whether Cowell is gay, Varey responds: “Yes.”

The PA goes on to say that he has never slept with Cowell, before adding: “One day I will when I make my move.”

When asked how he knows Cowell is gay, Varey responds: “I know people who have.”

A spokesperson for Cowell has since told the press: “We are bound by contempt of court rules so cannot respond to these claims in the manner we wish to. We are speaking to the Attorney General’s office, and we intend to make a statement in court as soon as possible.”

The tape was aired yesterday (July 17) during Contostavlos‘ ongoing trial at Southwark Crown Court. The former N-Dubz singer denies being involved in the supply of Class A drugs.
