will return to BBC One for a full series, it has been announced.

The sitcom – which aired a one-off special on Boxing Day – will air six new episodes later in 2014.

The Open All Hours revival – starring David Jason as Granville – drew high ratings over the festive period, with a final consolidated figure of 12.2 million viewers.

David Jason added: “I am so delighted that we are doing a series of Still Open All Hours as the feedback from our Christmas Special has been so rewarding and encouraging.

“We want to have more fun giving the audience the kind of show they seemed to appreciate. It goes to prove that the corner shop is still open all hours.”

Series creator and writer Roy Clarke is said to be “delighted” by the confirmation of a full series.
