Stonewall are having trans consultations for their ‘A Vision For Change’ pledge
By Darren Mew
Stonewall is is Britain’s leading charity for lesbian, gay, bi and trans equality. The charity became trans inclusive in February 2015, and since formed the Stonewall Trans Advisory Group.
The group has been meeting to agree actions Stonewall should take to support the advancement of trans equality. From this they have looked at the issues that affect trans people and are writing and producing a document to guide Stonewall’s work.
A ‘Vision for Change’ is the result of this. The document is based on a shared mission and will underpin Stonewall’s work for the next five years. It aims to show and promote that trans people have the right to live full and authentic lives at work, home and in public.
This is a hugely important document, so Stonewall are now consulting with trans individuals and communities about its content.
