An 18-year-old student was stabbed by his father is Chile after saying he was ‘embarrassed’ to have a gay son.

According to the Movement for Homosexual Integration and Liberation (Movhil) – a local LGBTQ rights group in Chile – the son intervened in a row between his parents.

The father said he was ‘embarrassed to have a f****t son’ before challenging him to a fight outside the house ‘with knife in hand’.

Movilh president Gonzalo Velásquez said: “It was one of the most serious cases of homophobic intrafamily violence that we have known.

“The reaction was dramatic. The father invited his son to fight outside the house, with knife in hand.”

The son was stabbed minutes later during the attack and suffered one left thoracic penetrating wound and two dorsal puncture wounds.

The LGBTQ organisation also reported that a 54-year-old man was attacked by his sister and nephew.

The man was hit in the head with a bottle and was hit all over his body.

Velásquez added: “It is very sad that a person of 54 years should suffer these abuses at the hands of their relatives. In this case we are also providing legal guidance.”
