Lena Katina, one half of faux-lesbian Russian pop duo t.A.T.u, has responded to the controversy caused by her former bandmate’s recent comments about gay men.

In a recent interview on Russian TV, Katina’s bandmate Yulia Volkova said she wouldn’t “support” her son if he were gay because “men should be men”. Read Volkova’s comments in full here.

Katina has since posted a Facebook status making clear that she doesn’t share her former bandmate’s anti-gay views, telling fans she believes “love is love” and that we should all be “tolerant and not judge other people”.
