A teenager was tied to a tree and beaten after she was found in bed with her girlfriend last week.
The 19-year-old woman in India was dragged out of her house last Friday (May 24) and tied to a tree by neighbours who beat her despite her parents attempting to stop the attack.
According to the Times of India, the teen had been in a same-sex relationship for the last six months in the small village of Chandol.
However, neighbours found that the couple sharing a bed and their relationship was dubbed ‘immoral’ despite India’s Supreme Court legalising homosexuality last year.
The teenager said: “I was dragged out of my house by my neighbours. They beat me up and tied me to a tree.
“They abused and kicked me when my parents tried to rescue me.”
Police are investigating the attack and those found guilty could face up to seven years in prison.
