Thai transgender modelling agency to set up shop in LA

Transgender models such as Hari Nef, Andreja Pejic and Lea T have been making waves in the fashion industry, so it’s really no surprise that an agency catering exclusively to trans models is opening in LA.
The LA agency is an outpost of Bangkok-based Apple Model Management, which already represents transgender models in Thailand in addition to males and females.
At the helm of the LA agency is filmmaker Cecilio Asuncion, whose 2012 documentary What’s The T? shone the spotlight on five transgender women and their daily triumphs and struggles.
“We see trans individuals as beautiful,” Asuncion told The Advocate. “Our strong commitment to developing them as successful models is never about quantifying or qualifying their gender. It’s never a question of if they are women or men, it’s about their passion and commitment to being the best possible models they can be.”
The agency has six models listed so far and is currently looking for more models to add to its roster.
